Boutique gastro pub with rooms, The Crown & Horns in East Ilsley, Berkshire, has been crowned Pub of the Year at the 2016 Berkshire Life Food & Drink Awards.
Held at Royal Windsor Racecourse on Thursday 20 October, the awards celebrate the best of the region’s food and drink suppliers, including pubs, restaurants and hotels, who between them help put Berkshire firmly on the food map.
Popular village local, The Crown & Horns has become a Mecca for those in search of great British pub food, with a menu that features all your pub classics – done better, a legendary Sunday roast and a variety of dishes that pay homage to the abundance of great local producers on their doorstep, including Berkshire’s own, Vicars Game Butchers.
Recently renovated by current owners, Redcomb Pubs, The Crown & Horns is one of 12 pubs within the group which includes The Carnarvon Arms Hotel also located in Berkshire.
Commenting on winning the award, Steve Martin, general manager at The Crown & Horns says;
“This award means so much to all of us at The Crown as we truly pride ourselves on providing the best British pub offering in Berkshire. Thanks must go to all our customers who nominated us and the judges who selected us amongst stiff competition. It’s an honour to be crowned ‘Pub of the Year’ and we will continue to work our socks off to live up to this accolade.”
